Identify your target market : Keep your target market as focussed as possible. Figure out which market you would have appeal to.
Cut through the clutter : Create impact to attract attention, stimulate their interest. It is becoming an increasing challenge to cut through the clutter to be noticed.
Create urgency : The aim is to offer your prospect a reason to take action immediately. Provide an offer that is hard to turn down.
Qualify your leads : Start with “suspects” (unqualified leads) and then work your way up to “prospects” (qualified leads).
Take the 80/20 rule : Marketing to 20% of your "prospects" leads is more effective than 80% of your "suspects" leads.
Keep your message single-minded : "Suspects" are not likely to retain multiple messages. It is far more effective to deliver one single-minded value proposition at the start. Choose a message with emotional appeal.
Walk the walk : To convince them to buy, you’ll need to establish credibility and trust. See 5 stages of Communication
Be contactable : Provide a direct respone device. Make their life as easy as possible to respond. Provide contact details such as a phone number, an email or an easy form on your website or if you are using direct mail, include a business reply card.
